Sia il successo che la passione segnano la carriera di Annie Challan e ci vorrebbe troppo tempo per stilare un elenco completo.
Dal suo debutto come bambina prodigio…

– 1 ° Premio Arpa presso il Conservatorio di Versailles a 12 anni.
– 1 ° Premio Arpa al Conservatorio di Parigi all’età di 15 anni (allieva di Lily Laskine)
– Arpa solista dei Concerts Colonne a 16 anni.
– Arpista solista dell’orchestra dell’Opéra de Paris a 18 anni (la più giovane orchestrale della storia dell’Opera).

… Fino alla sua carriera di interprete e compositrice, la vita di Annie Challan riflette uno spirito visionario al servizio della musica e dell’arpa .
A testimonianza, basta ricordare la creazione:
– del primo Duo d’arpe fondato nel 1960 con con Suzanne Cotelle,
– del primo duo per Arpa e Violoncello fondato nel  1978 con Yves Bellac,
e dal 1961 al 1976 il celebrato duo Flauto e Arpa con Roger Bourdin.

Come non aggiungere anche il suo desiderio costante di ampliare il repertorio trascrivendo varie opere scritte originariamente per altri strumenti, attività che rivela la natura pionieristica del suo lavoro.
La sua insaziabile curiosità l’ha portata a rimodernare repertorio sconosciuto e il suo senso di condivisione a far si che questo fosse riscoperto.
Trasmettere la sua conoscenza: una missione portata avanti con passione e sincerità anche come insegnante (docente presso il Conservatorio di Versailles per 35 anni) che come direttore (Conservatorio di Marly le Roi , 36 anni )

Annie Challan è anche una compositrice aperta ad altre culture, altre musiche, altri ritmi: è infatti autrice di numerose opere per arpa sola, ensemble, duetti con Flauto, Violoncello e Clarinetto editi ed eseguiti da decine di interpreti in tutto il mondo.

Concertista di fama internazionale, la sua discografia è importante (a soli 21 anni uscì il suo primo LP a cui sono seguiti dischi per Philips, Pathé Marconi, EMI).
Molti riconoscimenti hanno accompagnato questo percorso eccezionale, come per esempio la nomina a Chevalier de l’Ordre International des Arts, Chevalier du Mérite Culturel et Artistique, Prix “Charles Oulmont” nel 1989 (sotto l’egida della Fondation de France) e nel 2002, la nomina a Cavaliere dell’Ordre National du Mérite Française.

Con le sue ultime registrazioni “Harpe Vagabonde” (2009) e “Ombre et Lumière” (2012) – che uniscono sue composizioni a brani di Duke Ellington, Tarrega e la sua amata musica brasiliana -,  Annie Challan dimostra ancora una volta la sua versatilità, la sua ricerca appassionata di colori e di musica che parla al cuore.

– 1st Harp Prize at the Conservatory of Versailles at 12 years.
– 1st Harp Prize at the Paris Conservatory at the age of 15 years (in the class of Lily Laskine)
– Solo Harpist of the Concerts Colonne at the age of 16 years.
– Solo Harpist of the Opéra de Paris at 18 years (the youngest musician in the history of the Opera orchestra).

…until her career as a performer and composer, the life of Annie Challan reflects a visionary spirit in the service of music and the harp.
As proof, she created:
– The first harp duo founded in 1960 with Suzanne Cotelle,
– The first for Harp and Cello duo founded in 1978 with Yves Bellac,
and from 1961 to 1976 the celebrated Flute and Harp duo with Roger Bourdin.

It’s important to remember also her constant desire to expand the repertoire by transcribing several works originally written for other instruments, which reflects the pioneering nature of her work.
Her insatiable curiosity led her to modernize unknown repertoire and her sense of sharing to ensure that this was rediscovered. Transmit her knowledge: a mission carried out with passion and sincerity as a teacher (professor at the Conservatory of Versailles for 35 years) and as Director (Conservatory of Marly le Roi, for 36 years)

Annie Challan is also a composer open to other cultures, other music, other rhythms: she is the author of numerous works for solo harp, ensembles, duets with Flute, Cello and Clarinet, published and performed by dozens of performers around the world.

Internationally renewed concert artist, her discography is important (at the age of 21 she released her first LP which was followed by CDs for Philips, Pathé Marconi, EMI).
Many awards accompanied this exceptional journey, such as, in 1989, the appointment of Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts International, Chevalier du Mérite Culturel et Artistique Prix “Charles Oulmont” (under the aegis of the Fondation de France) and in 2002 the appointment as Chevalier of the Ordre National du Mérite française .

With her latest recordings “Harpe Vagabonde” (2009) and “Ombre et Lumière” (2012) – that combine her compositions to pieces by Duke Ellington, Tarrega and her beloved Brazilian music – Annie Challan once again demonstrates her versatility, her passionate pursuit of colors and music that speaks to the heart.
