Violinista e direttore d’orchestra di fama mondiale, la carriera musicale del Maestro Hakan Sensoy è iniziata per la prima volta presso il Programma speciale accelerato di educazione al violino del Conservatorio di Stato di Istanbul per giovani prodigi.

Come violinista, il Maestro Sensoy ha approfondito la sua formazione con Trevor Williams al Royal College of Music di Londra, e successivamente con il violinista e pedagogo russo Victor Pikaisen, nonché con il celebre Ayla Erduran.
All’età di 16 anni è stato nominato “Artista di maggior successo dell’anno” dall’Associazione Filarmonica di Istanbul. Quell’anno ricevette il premio più significativo dell’Università Tecnica di Istanbul, “Successo superiore in un ramo artistico”, assegnato solo quattro volte in tutta la sua storia.
Dal suo primo recital da solista all’età di 13 anni, è apparso come solista in alcune delle sale da concerto più significative in Europa e negli Stati Uniti, tra cui l’Auditorium del Louvre di Parigi, la Carnegie Hall e il Lincoln Center di New York, la Smetana Hall ad Dvorak Hall a Praga.
In numerose occasioni si è esibito in festival internazionali come il Bari Christoph Colombus Festival, l’Istanbul Music Festival, l’Izmir Music Festival, l’Ankara Music Festival, l’Istanbul CRR Young Soloists Festival, il Brasov Chamber Music Festival, il Malmö “Falsterbonasets” Summer Festival, Festival Internazionale della Musica di Como e Festival Musicale Svedese di Karlskrona.
Inoltre si è esibito in altre sedi in Italia, Francia, Olanda, Grecia, Svizzera, Bulgaria, USA, Romania, Lituania, Azerbaigian, Cina, Marocco, Estonia, Svezia, Inghilterra, Australia, Kosova, Venezuela, Austuralia, Messico, Repubblica Ceca, Singapore, Albania, Bosnia Erzagovina, Macedonia, Polonia, Cipro e Turchia.
Lo studio della direzione d’orchestra di Hakan Sensoy è iniziato quando aveva 16 anni sotto la guida del leggendario direttore d’orchestra turco Demirhan Altug. Ha approfondito la sua formazione con il Maestro Emin Güven Yaslicama.
Da allora ha diretto alcuni dei solisti più significativi del nostro tempo, tra cui Sholomo Mintz, Raphael Walfisch, Fazil Say, Steven Iserlis, Cihat Askin, Tedi Papavrami, Peter Jablonsky, Gülsin Onay, Emre Elivar e Kenneth Hamilton.
Come direttore d’orchestra, ha lavorato anche con Terence Blanced, The Bee Gees, Dreamtone, George Dalaras e Neverland di Iris Mavraki.
Hakan Sensoy è apparso in numerosi programmi radiofonici e televisivi in tutto il mondo. Kalan Music e AFM Records hanno registrato le sue esibizioni come violinista e direttore d’orchestra.
Il Maestro Sensoy ha conseguito un dottorato in musica presso l’Università Tecnica di Istanbul. Attualmente è professore di violino al Conservatorio di Stato dell’Università Tecnica di Istanbul.

Hakan Sensoy, violin
A world-renowned violinist and conductor, Maestro Hakan Sensoy’s musical career first started at the State Conservatory of Istanbul’s Accelerated Special Violin Education Program for young prodigies,
taught by the eminent pedagogue Professor Ayhan Turan.
As a violinist, Maestro Sensoy furthered his education with Trevor Williams at the London Royal College of Music, and later with the Russian violinist and pedagogue Victor Pikaisen, as well as the celebrated Ayla Erduran.
At age 16, he was named “Most Successful Artist of the Year” by the Istanbul Philharmonic Association. That year he received the most significant award of the Istanbul Technical University, “Superior Success in an Artistic Branch,” given only four times in its entire history.
Since his first solo recital at the age of 13, he has appeared as a soloist in some of the most significant Concert halls in Europe and the United States, including the Louvre Auditorium in Paris and Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, Smetana Hall ad Dvorak Hall in Prag.
On numerous occasions he has performed in such international festivals as the Bari Christoph Colombus Festival, the Istanbul Music Festival, the Izmir Music Festival, the Ankara Music Festival, the Istanbul CRR Young Soloists Festival, the Brasov Chamber Music Festival, the Malmö “Falsterbonasets” Summer Festival, International Como Music Festival and the Swedish Karlskrona Music Festival.

Hakan Sensoy’s study of conducting started when he was 16 under the legendary Turkish conductor Demirhan Altug. He furthered his education with Maestro Emin Güven Yaslicama.

Maestro Sensoy holds a doctoral degree in music from the Istanbul Technical University. Currently he is a professor of violin at the State Conservatory of Istanbul Technical University.
